Twilight caused kids to think that vampires are real and that they wanted to become one etc. . . I’ve already heard that some kids were supposedly asking this.

    1. Red Wolf of Michigan says:

That’d be horrible if it took on Twilight-like proportions.
Maybe, I’ve heard the rumors, too. I’m not sure. I’ve never read the books or saw the movie, it all looks a bit corny to me.
I think there will be impressionable kids believe they’re children of the gods, like there always is. But hopefully it doesn’t explode into the horrid Twilight-like proportions. If Hot Topic is crowded with Percy Jackson stuff, I will shake my head and walk away.

    2. Marie says:

I agree with Red Wolf of Michigan. (sorry if i spelled that wrong) If it does come to that I will be very disappointed. Especially if they have Percy Jackson stuff in Hot Topic!!! I think that some kids will act that way, but there is nothing we can do to control it. Kids have wide imaginations. Instead of shunning that we should embrace it! As long as it doesn’t get out of hand.

    3. ~look at meeeeeeeeeee says:

      probably
as much as they want to well they’ll learn that there is no camp half blood

    4. Carl P says:

Kids are kids and a fantasy is harmless. When adults and such start thinking like that, a reality check is needed.

And I think “pro-wrestling” is more dangerous for little children than a good make believe now and then.

    5. KC says:

Yes. If you’ve read the book, the opening page makes it clear that’s the intent. The book is horribly written, btw. It will never be as popular as Harry Potter, even though the concept is an obvious rip-off. It can’t hold a candle to it.

    6. G-Rome says:

      i’m sure it will.
      but that’s ok.
didn’t you ever have a fantasy dream or invisible friend when you were little?
kids are going to fantasize and make this stuff up anyway, so what if a movie gives them the details?
they’ll grow out of it as soon as they are old enough to use logic and know that it’s not real.

    7. Benjamin says:

I doubt it… Did Power Rangers make kids believe that they could be Power Rangers? I’m sure that there are better examples (Harry Potter?) that such a thing didn’t happen. When I was a kid, Isaw Who Framed Roger Rabbit but I didn’t start to believe in Toon Town. Even if some do, they’ll grow out of it eventually. After all, they’ll have to think something is up when they don’t develop any supernatural abilities.

    8. Ask Pikachu says:

Kids have wild imaginations and that’s a good thing. You should let them believe what they want but they will soon come to understand that it’s not exactly real.

The books are awesome By The way.

    9. Worldwide Revolution says:

Twilight didn’t cause kids to think they were vampires. Twilight inspired kids to annoy others by pretending they think they’re turning into vampires. And no, Percy Jackson will not cause this reaction. Can’t wait to watch the film though, looks great.

    10. alexandra says:

      probably
i was thinking that while i was watching it at the movie theater

    11. °Holley° says:

yes.i do that they have powers in try to make people believe this i would not doubt if attention seekers start to ask 1000 question trying to convince everybody in this section i am waiting for then to pour out of the wood work tonight or starting tomorrow with all this rubbish

    12. tab. says:

Gods and Goddesses are real. I believed that wayy before I saw the movie.

    13. Meg says:

If the movie is really good, and seeing as how some teens, like myself, find the main guy to be extremely hot then yeah, maybe…….

    14. Thades says:

Well it may happen and it may not who knows. Me I believe in the gods before the movie came out. I knew they existed even after reading the books. But I know they’re different from the books. the gods I mean. It may get people believe in the gods but unless they have god like powers then they won’t believe they’re demi-gods. Unless of course they thought they had these powers which don’t then that would be kind amusing.

    15. http://www.bible-reviews.com says:

They’d have to be really, *really* impressionable.

Of course children will *want* to be one – but very few are so disassociated with reality that they will actually believe that they are one.

    16. ~~**Ma'iingan**~~ says:

It’s coming…just wait! It’ll happen. M&F will be flooded with questions about unlocking their “God Powers” or inquiring about how Zeus is their father or some other thing, It happened with the stupid mermaid thing, it happened with Harry Potter, it happened with Twilight. It’ll happen with the new “Werewolf” movie too (even though thanks to Twilight and Underworld, it’s already somewhat here).

Just wait and prepare your answers.

    17. Y says:

Yup, kids will definitely think that. That is a pretty normal thing to do, almost all kids tend to hope for things like that. I used to hope to go to Hogwarts when I was around 11, but I knew that would never happen.
